I'll not get to involved in the history of goldfish, but the Chinese get the credit for developing most of the varieties known today. Their history date back as early as 265 AD.

There are a great number of varieties of goldfish, but on this site we will be concentrating on the ones most commonly used for outdoor garden ponds. These include Comets, Sarasa Comets, and Shubunkins.

Pictures of Goldfish I have some beautiful examples of Comets and Shubunkins and I'll post the pictures as soon as I take them.
